Our story
A workshop built on patience and respect for time.
We work quietly, carefully, and without hurry — the way every watch deserves to be handled.
Back to HomeHow we began
Wattana Timeworks
Wattana Timeworks opened its doors on Thanon Phetkasem in 2006, when Wattana Srisombat — a watchmaker who had spent nearly a decade learning his trade in Chiang Mai and later in Switzerland — returned to his hometown of Hua Hin with the intention of offering the community something it lacked: a workshop where people could entrust their most personal timepieces to someone who understood what they meant.
The workshop has always been small by design. Wattana has no interest in volume or speed for its own sake. A watch that comes through the door may have belonged to a grandfather, marked a wedding anniversary, or simply been a companion across decades of working life. Each one deserves individual attention, an honest appraisal, and work done at the pace the piece requires.
Over the years the workshop has earned a quiet reputation — not through advertising, but through word passed between people who value careful, unhurried craft. Customers come from Hua Hin, from Bangkok, and occasionally from further afield, drawn by the same thing: the knowledge that their watch will be treated with the same consideration they would give it themselves.
What guides us
Our values
Honesty above all
We tell owners exactly what we find, what the work will cost, and what the realistic outcome is. We do not invent unnecessary work, and we never proceed without consent.
The right pace
Good watchmaking cannot be rushed. We communicate clearly about timelines and prefer to take the time a job genuinely needs rather than return something that has been hurried.
Respect for originality
A watch's age, patina, and original parts are part of its character. We believe in conserving these qualities unless the owner expressly wishes otherwise.
Open conversation
We welcome questions at every stage — before, during, and after work. Technical matters are explained in plain language, and no question is too small to deserve a thoughtful answer.
The people behind the work
Our small team
Wattana Srisombat
Master Watchmaker & Founder
Trained in Chiang Mai and Switzerland, Wattana has been working with mechanical movements for over eighteen years. He leads all restoration assessments and complex movement work personally.
Nattaya Phansiri
Watchmaker & Case Specialist
Nattaya joined the workshop in 2014 and specialises in case finishing and dial restoration work. She approaches each cosmetic job with particular care for preserving a watch's authentic character.
Krit Tangsiri
Workshop Assistant & Customer Liaison
Krit handles initial assessments, customer communication, and parts research. His calm and straightforward manner makes him the first point of contact for many who bring in a watch for the first time.
How we work
Standards we hold ourselves to
Written work records
Every watch entering the workshop receives a written intake record. Condition notes, agreed scope, and costs are documented before any work begins.
Post-service timing tests
After every service, movements are tested on a timing machine and observed across multiple positions before being returned to the owner.
Genuine parts only
Replacement parts are sourced from reputable suppliers. Where genuine spares are unavailable, we discuss options with the owner — including hand-making components where appropriate.
Secure handling
Watches in the workshop are kept in individual labelled trays and stored securely. We treat every piece as if it were irreplaceable — because often it is.
Owner consent at every stage
No additional work is carried out beyond the agreed scope without the owner's explicit approval. We contact owners if we discover something unexpected during service.
Service warranty
All maintenance and service work carries a warranty period. Should performance fall short of what is expected, we attend to it at no additional cost within the warranty term.
Watch care in Hua Hin
A craft that takes time to learn well
Mechanical watchmaking draws on knowledge built up over centuries — understanding how small tolerances, oil viscosities, and the geometry of escapements interact to keep accurate time. A competent watchmaker holds this knowledge alongside patience, steady hands, and a willingness to work slowly when the work demands it.
At Wattana Timeworks, the focus is on watches that carry personal value: inherited pieces passed down through families, models that have accompanied their owners across long careers, and vintage timepieces collected for their craftsmanship. These are not objects to be handled quickly. They benefit from careful disassembly, thoughtful assessment, and work carried out with full attention.
The workshop's location in Hua Hin reflects this philosophy. Away from the bustle of Bangkok, Hua Hin offers a quieter setting well suited to the kind of careful, considered work we prefer. Customers visiting from Bangkok or further afield are always welcome to call ahead and arrange a suitable time to drop by.
Whether a watch needs a routine service to keep it running smoothly, cosmetic attention to refresh its appearance, or a full sympathetic restoration after years of dormancy, Wattana Timeworks approaches each commission with the same steady, unhurried commitment to doing the work well.
